On Friday, March 20, the College Board officially announced their plan for accommodating students and schools that have suffered the loss of classroom instruction time due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The College Board is providing schools with new online resources to help educators successfully host online classes. Additionally, the College Board is providing students with the ability to take online assessments as an alternative to traditional AP tests.

Flexible testing dates will be offered to accommodate students who would like to take exams more closely coordinated with recent classroom instruction. The exam schedule for online testing is not yet released and will be released by April 3^rd, 2020. The College Board will be unlocking additional free response practice resources so students can practice testing in a realistic setting.

2020 AP Exam Scope Reduction

In addition to providing alternative testing options for students, the College Board is reducing the scope of what is tested on the exams. This will make a more level playing field for students who have had instruction halted or significantly changed as a result of the ever-changing COVID-19 situation.
